We Welcome Your Support

:: Volunteer and help us to build a better environment!

We offer FREE accommodation which covers expenses relating to rent of apartment, heating, water and electricity to our volunteers.

We will pick you up from the airport and see you there when you leave. We will also provide you with a bicycle at no extra charge, to get around, and to get to work.

We have been hosting volunteers from different countries since 1996. Placements are available on both a short term and a long term basis for local or foreign volunteers on most of our projects.

Opportunities range from:

1. working in our specialised plant nursery for indigenous and endemic plants
2. guiding visitors around our project sites
3. helping out in our organic olive grove
4. giving a hand with the tree planting and seed gathering
5. assisting our Gaia rangers on beach watch in the summer months and
6. helping to man an information and refreshment kiosk also in the summer.

Book early to avoid disappointment.

Contact us, tell us your interests and we'll try to fit you in!

Since 2008, Gaia has also accepted to host volunteers through the European Voluntry Services financed by the 'Youth in Action' Programme.

:: How can you help?

adopt a tree

Adopt a Tree

Trees are the backbone of nature. Project Elysium is Gaia's biodiversity project.

You can be a part of this project by adopting your own tree. For just €14 (Lm 6.01) you can add a tree to the Maltese landscape, and to the world. The Gaia Foundation will propagate the tree, plant it, water it and maintain it. In the event of loss, the tree will be replaced. Your name will be added to the list of persons adopting trees, placed on our website, and at the Elysium Visitor Center. Print an Adopt-a-Tree form and send it together with your payment to the foundation's address.
